General description of organisation

The Center for Responsibility in Finance (CRF) is a third-party funded center at the Department of Banking and Finance of the University of Zurich. It was founded in 2011 with Prof. Carmen Tanner as the director. Its aim is to promote sustainable and social responsibility in finance, business and management and to contribute to the education of managers and leaders. Combining expertise from finance, business, psychology and practice, the center is devoted to independent, professional and interdisciplinary research.

Reason for membership with SSF

The CRF is highly interested in the issues of SSF and wants to contribute to this discourse. The CRF sees the SSF as a network extension and as an opportunity to cooperate with research partners and companies to pursue following goals: Produce interdisciplinary research to advance the understanding of conditions which hinder or facilitate sustainable and responsible practices from leaders, employees and organizations; developing measures and tools which help to assess and to promote self-regulation at the organizational and individual level; promoting education in sustainability in finance and management.
