|28 August||Blended Finance Information Session and Networking Breakfast||Zurich|
Blended finance – a term becoming more and more common amongst sustainable investors – refers to a strategic combination of public and private funding that helps mobilise additional capital flows to foster development. But what exactly does blended finance mean? Convergence and SSF invite you to an event in which we will look more closely at the definitions and mechanisms behind blended finance as well as show-case two specific innovative Swiss case studies.
At this members’ event, we will further offer a platform for experts in the field to exchange ideas while providing the background for new actors to gain a full understanding of how and why blended finance can attract increased volumes of funding for sustainable development.
This event is for SSF and Convergence members and network partners only. If you are interested in this event, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would be happy to share more details with you.
|6 & 7 September||SSF member events: Launch of SSF education tools for financial professionals - "Sustainable investments in a changing world"||Lugano, Zurich|
Capacity building in sustainable finance is one of the key drivers to advance investments in more sustainable products. Therefore, the SSF education workgroup has created two education tools on sustainable investments (a slide deck as well as an online e-learning tool) tailored specifically to the needs of finance professionals. Case studies as well as sustainability profiling of clients offer an interactive learning experience of practical value.
SSF will present the education tools exclusively to our members. In a subsequent discussion, we wish to gather your feedback on the tools and jointly identify the best way to disseminate it amongst our members and network partners.
SSF members and network partners can sign up for either event sending an email to email@example.com. The registration deadline is 3 September 2018.
We thank Vontobel for hosting the Zurich event.
|25 September||twentyfifty and SSF workshop: Understanding human rights due diligence requirements for the financial sector||Zurich|
As part of the Swiss strategy for implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) have commissioned twentyfifty to conduct a series of awareness-raising workshops on the topic of business and human rights for Swiss companies.
As part of this series, twentyfifty and SSF co-organise an event for the financial sector. The focus of the workshop will be on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and their application to the financial sector. Based on hands-on input the workshop will provide inspiration and practical support for financial companies on how organisations of different sizes can implement human rights due diligence within their organisations. The format will offer the opportunity to discuss questions of practical implementation in a safe space that encourages peer to peer learning.
SSF is currently planning our next events and will post any developments as soon as possible. Please refer to our past events to see where we have been active.
