16 May 2024 SSF/Global Canopy Webinar: “Getting Started with Deforestation Risks in Investment Portfolios” Online

Continued deforestation is at the centre of the intertwined climate and nature crises and is responsible for nearly 15% of total CO2 emissions. Deforestation must be integrated into climate and nature decisions made by financial institutions in order for the transition economy to come to fruition. Deforestation also offers a first step in looking at biodiversity and nature considerations that are required for TCFD and TNFD reporting.

In this webinar, SSF partners with Global Canopy to give you an introduction to nature-related risk assessment and management through the lens of deforestation. Participants of the webinar will gain an overview of existing data and tools that can be used to determine the deforestation risks underlying investment portfolios. Two case studies from industry representatives will further provide a demonstration of potential results: Vemund Olsen, Senior Sustainability Analyst, Storebrand Asset Management AS and Kiran Sehra, Biodiversity Analyst, Aviva Investors.

30 May 2024 "Swiss Climate Scores Template 2.0 Launch Webinar" Online

Join us for this launch webinar for the version 2.0 Swiss Climate Scores template, organised jointly with the Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS).

The Swiss Federal Council updated the Swiss Climate Scores at the end of December 2023, and now AMAS and SSF have updated our Swiss Climate Scores template. This template aims to support Swiss asset managers in providing best-practice transparency on the Paris-alignment of financial investments, thereby fostering investment decisions that contribute to reaching the climate goals. The indicators are split between an examination of current state (greenhouse gas emissions and exposure to fossil fuel activities) and the transition to net zero (verified commitments to net-zero and management to net-zero, credible stewardship and global warming potential).

In this launch webinar, Christoph Baumann, Deputy Head Strategy Division & Envoy for Sustainable Finance at the State Secretariat for International Finance SIF, will inform about the motivation to update the SCS, followed by Aurelia Fäh, Senior Sustainability Expert, AMAS, providing an overview of the changes to the template. In a discussion with Practitioners, Sabine Döbeli, CEO SSF, will debate opportunities and challenges related to Swiss Climate Scores reporting.
