Stefano Montobbio
Global Head of ESG Governance and Frameworks, EFG AM (EFG Group)
Stefano Montobbio is Global Head of ESG Governance and Frameworks at EFG, where he oversees ESG governance, research and modelling. Stefano started his sustainable finance journey more than 15 years ago, setting the base for an ESG assessment framework that is still in use today. In 2014, he championed his employer's founding membership of SSF, where he also served as workgroup leaders for a couple of years.
Over his 30-year career in finance, Stefano has accumulated extensive expertise across various domains. He was lead manager of a European equity fund, established and led an advisory and structured products desk, was head of wealth management services and finally served on the Investment Committee of another bank.
Outside his primary role, Stefano lectures about sustainable finance at Centro Studi Villa Negroni in Ticino, is visiting fellow at the Reading University in the UK and serves as Chairman of the cenpro Foundation. He holds a Master in Economics, a CAS in Asset Management and an ESRA (Environmental and Social Risk Analysis) certificate.
