Stefano Montobbio
Global Head of Sustainability Investing, EFG AM (EFG Group)
Stefano Montobbio is Global Head of Sustainability Investing at EFG AM (EFG Group), where he oversees ESG research and financial integration and related regulatory and governance frameworks. Stefano started his sustainable finance journey more than 15 years ago, setting the base for an ESG assessment framework that is still in use today. In 2014, he championed his employer's founding membership of SSF, where he also served as workgroup leaders for a couple of years.
During his 30+ years financial career, he has also gained significant financial experience. He served on the Investment Committee of the BSI bank, was head of asset management services, founder and head of an advisory and structured products desk, and lead manager of an equity fund. He has also developed quantitative asset allocation techniques.
Outside his primary role, Stefano wrote articles and a book on sustainable finance. He teaches sustainable finance at Centro Studi Villa Negroni in Ticino, is visiting fellow at the Reading University in the UK and serves as Chairman of the cenpro Foundation. He holds a Master in Economics, a CAS in Asset Management and an ESRA (Environmental and Social Risk Analysis) certificate.
