Katja Brunner, Director Legal & Regulatory

Katja Brunner has worked in the financial sector for almost 20 years. With her broad experience and regulatory background, she is mainly responsible at SSF for projects related to legal and regulatory questions in our industry.  

Prior to joining SSF, Katja spent many years in various leading and expert positions at Swiss government level organisations (Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, Federal Department of Finance FDF, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO), in the banking sector, in the consulting industry and at the Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS). She has extensive knowledge of the Swiss and EU financial market law and acquired specialised knowledge in Sustainable finance over the last few years. Katja was responsible for leading many financial market regulatory projects and implementing regulation in the banking, funds and asset management industry. This led to her broad expertise in lobbying for a partnership-based dialogue in politics, with authorities and financial market players.

Katja graduated in law from the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva. She was trained as an attorney and was admitted to the Geneva State Bar. From the University of Zurich she obtained an LL.M. in International Business Law.
